Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and move tall or unstable loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that could operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
